Diono states the useful life of its seats as 10 years (all Diono car seats, per Diono's general help-center article "Is my car seat expired?") · 10 years (the Radian line, per each Radian model's own help-center article (the sentence quoted here is the Radian 3RXT SafePlus Max article's)) · 8 years (all Diono booster seats, per Diono's help-center article "When does my booster seat expire?") · 8 years (the LiteClik 30 R and LiteClik 30 XT SafePlus infant seats and the Quantum 4 travel system, each per its own help-center article (the sentence quoted here is the LiteClik 30 R SafePlus article's)). The date of manufacture on your seat's label plus that figure is the expiration date.

Two things a Diono owner needs. First, Diono times useful life from the DATE OF PURCHASE, not the date of manufacture — unusual among car-seat brands. The manufacture date is only the fallback, in Diono's own repeated wording: "In the event the date of purchase cannot be determined then we use the date of manufacture." A secondhand or unregistered seat with no purchase record falls back to the date stamped on the manufacturing label. Second, Diono's blanket sentence "Diono® car seats expire 10 years from the date of purchase" does not hold across the whole range. Diono's own model-level articles put all booster seats at 8 years, and the LiteClik®30 R and XT infant seats and the Quantum®4 travel system at 8 years, while Diono publishes a separate article for each Radian model by name stating 10. Both statements are live on Diono's help center and Diono publishes no tiebreaker between them, so the label and the manual on your seat are authoritative.

Where the date is on a Diono seat

On the manufacturing label on the BACK of the seat. Wording varies slightly by model: the Radian® 3R® and Radian® 3RXT® articles say the label "is located on the back of the seat"; the SafePlus™ variants (3R® SafePlus™, 3RXT® SafePlus™, 3QX SafePlus™, 3QXT® FirstClass™ SafePlus™) say "on the back of the seat or seat bottom"; the Radian® 3RXT® SafePlus™ Max says "on the backside of the seat." Most articles add that you may need to move the cover to reach it. The label carries the manufacture date, model number, model name, and serial number. The Radian SafePlus manual adds that the same information appears on the registration card.
