Clek states the useful life of its seats as 9 years (all Clek car seats — the figure Clek's support-site expiry article states for the whole line, with no breakdown by category or shell construction) · 9 years ("Our seats" — the note repeated on Clek's per-model date-of-manufacture articles for the Foonf and Fllo (convertibles), Oobr (booster), Ozzi (backless booster) and Liing (infant); the Oobr, Ozzi and Liing articles word it with the numeral "9") · 9 years ("this car seat" — the Foonf convertible, stated in the Foonf US/EN instruction manual (Tier 2: manufacturer's manual)). The date of manufacture on your seat's label plus that figure is the expiration date.
Clek states one uniform figure — nine years from the date of manufacture — for every seat it makes. It does not break useful life down by seat category or shell construction, and no Clek source that does so was found: the same nine-year sentence appears on the infant (Liing), convertible (Foonf, Fllo) and booster (Oobr, Ozzi) label articles, so harness seats and boosters are treated identically. Clek words it two ways — "expiration of nine (9) years from their date of manufacture" on the expiry article and "lifespan of nine (9) years past their date of manufacture" on the label articles (the Oobr, Ozzi and Liing articles use the numeral "9") — and both are nine years. Two complications worth knowing: Clek's "Lifetime Extended Warranty" is not an extension of useful life, since the warranty page defines it as "the lifetime of the product as defined by the expiration date specified on the product (the 'Expiration Date')" and states that replacement product "does not extend any warranty period and the replacement product's warranty shall still terminate on the original product's Expiration Date." And the Liing carries two dates and serials, one on the carrier and one on the base: per Clek, a base showing only a serial number has the same date of manufacture as the carrier it is linked to, while a base showing both a serial number and its own date of manufacture is an accessory or replacement base. Where the date is on a Clek seat
A barcode label carrying the date of manufacture and serial number, with the serial number printed directly underneath the barcode. Position varies by model per Clek: Foonf — on the back of the seat, near the bottom; Fllo — on the back of the seat; Oobr — on the bottom of the seat base; Ozzi — on the seat bottom, beneath the fabric cover; Liing — two labels, one on the underside of the carrier and one on the bottom of the base. The Foonf instruction manual and Clek's product-registration page both describe it more generally as a label affixed to the back of the car seat.
The Foonf's date of manufacture and serial number can be found on the barcode label on the back of your seat, near the bottom.
